Ripple co-founder donates $1m in XRP to Kamala Harris

Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen has made his first recorded cryptocurrency donation to Vice President Kamala Harris. 

The donation, amounting to $1 million in XRP (XRP), was given to Future Ahead USA, a political motion committee supporting Harris in her presidential bid, in line with Eleanor Terrett

Larsen’s contribution follows his public endorsement of Harris in September. In response to reports from CNBC, Larsen has now donated over $1.9 million to Harris’s marketing campaign as she runs for president within the 2024 election.

This donation comes as Ripple continues its legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The case started in 2020 and facilities on classifying XRP as a safety. Each Ripple and the SEC have filed appeals following the lawsuit that concluded in August.

Harris’s marketing campaign group launched the Crypto4Harris initiative in early August to interact with the crypto neighborhood and counter Republican efforts to draw crypto voters. The marketing campaign goals to develop a pro-crypto coverage framework to fix Harris’s relationship with the crypto business.
