PwC is ready to submit its report back to the crisis-ridden IndusInd Bank‘s board on accounting discrepancies in its derivatives portfolio on Friday, information company PTI mentioned citing sources.

IndusInd Financial institution’s board has additionally employed Grant Thornton to conduct a forensic audit into accounting lapses.
As per the mandate, Grant Thornton would conduct a complete investigation to determine the basis reason behind the discrepancies and assess the correctness and influence of the accounting remedy of the by-product contracts with regard to the prevailing accounting requirements.
Moreover, the agency would determine any lapses and set up accountability with regard to discrepancies in accounting.
Notably on March 10, the IndusInd Financial institution disclosed discrepancies in its overseas alternate (foreign exchange) derivatives portfolio, amounting to Rs 1,577 crore.
Whereas the Reserve Financial institution of India (RBI) has confirmed that the financial institution is financially sound, the disaster raises questions on how such a big discrepancy went undetected for years.
