A16z-backed Espresso announces mainnet launch of core product
Espresso, a blockchain undertaking targeted on cross-chain composability and backed by enterprise capital agency Andreessen Horowitz, has introduced that its affirmation layer is now stay on mainnet.
The launch follows two years of analysis and improvement, 5 testnets, and integration plans with greater than 20 chains. This milestone marks vital progress for the group as they work in direction of “making Ethereum (ETH) composable once more,” the Espresso Methods group mentioned within the announcement.
Espresso notes that its affirmation layer gives the infrastructure for chains to work together rapidly and reliably, permitting rollups to attain synchronous composability. This layer allows two composable chains to verify their respective state transitions by studying one another’s transaction knowledge.
“To attain synchronous composability, chains want a shared supply of fact they will use to rapidly and reliably affirm the state transitions of different chains,” Espresso wrote.
In accordance with the Espresso group, a number of ecosystem companions are ready to combine the affirmation layer. These companions embrace bridges, chains, stack suppliers, and Rollups-as-a-service (also referred to as RaaS) platforms.
Particular companions embrace Linux-powered rollups platform Cartesi, modular zero-knowledge stack chains Airchains, and Arbitrum creators OffChain Labs. Extra companions are bridge platform Throughout Protocol and RaaS supplier AltLayer.
Espresso plans to roll out the mainnet in phases, progressively deploying performance, onboarding launch companions, and decentralizing the node operator set. A roadmap outlines the principle parts scheduled for launch all through 2025.
The Espresso group raised $28 million in a sequence B spherical in March, led by VC platform a16z Crypto.
